There are thousands of people who will blog once they have a moment of pause, then bamn! ideas start rushing in their heads of what to blog instantly via WordPress for BlackBerry version 1.6.5, available via BlackBerry World, or you can view WordPress for BlackBerry via their own official web-site.
That changed tonight.
WordPress (courtesy of Automattic, Inc.) for BlackBerry 10 devices, has released the application via BlackBerry World, which RIM will officially announced the launch event on January 30, 2013.
Let me tell you first hand as a BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha owner; WordPress for BlackBerry 10 is awesome, and I will explain why below with screen-shots.
Here’s a screen shot of WordPress for BlackBerry 10 below, where you can Download, or share the app to a BBM contact, group, or even via NFC.
I have successfully Installed WordPress for BlackBerry 10 below, where I can now view Details, or read other users feedback.
You will be prompted to Accept or Decline, Accept to continue accessing the application.
You will be prompted to Accept or Decline, Accept to continue accessing the application.
This is the main screen below where you have the option to;
- Start a new blog at WordPress.com
- Add blog hosted at WordPress.com
- Add self-hosted WordPress blog
As you can see below, after I chose, Add blog hosted at WordPress.com you will be prompted to sign in with your WordPress username and password. (mine is obviously blacked out)
After you have successfully signed into your WordPress account, you will be prompted to Select Blog(s) “Add All” or “All Selected” assuming you have more than one blog (most WordPress users do).
As you can see here, I am presented with several options, shown in a clear and nice format, you can;
- post a New Post
- New Page
- Quick Photo
- Quick Video
- view your Posts
- view your Pages
- view your Comments
- view/change Settings
- view Reader (Blogs I Follow)
- view Stats (this is my fave feature of WP for BlackBerry 10)
By pulling down the WordPress for BlackBerry 10 screen, I am offered the option to:
- Add Account
- Remove Blog
- Preferences
- About
I pressed Preferences on the top right corner, and was presented with a choice to change the Comment Notifications in my blog (don’t forget to Save).
Overall, I am very impressed, and even though everyone may or may not share the same opinion, that is their own after all.
If you have any further suggestions, ideas, or questions for me, or about my blog, please post below in the comment area, and I will try to respond as soon as possible (when I am available, and/or awake).
Thank you very much.
This WordPress has many of the same actions as the present WordPress version on PlayBook OS 2.1 but of coarse it will work sleeker on BB10 Z10 when you take into account Flow and swiping and keyboard “Flicking”.
Yes, most features from WordPress ver. 1.6.5 for BlackBerry OS7 devices are practically identical with the newest WP for BB10 ver. 2.2.5, but it’s so much smoother on my BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha device without a doubt in my mind:)
